Job Application

For the last job I applied to, I had to compose a ten page essay on leadership. I wrote it in the format of a choose-your-own-adventure book.

When the time came for my interview, the manager said to me, “You know we’ll have a hard time taking you for the position. Your essay ended after two pages. That’s unacceptable.”

I answered, “With all due respect, sir, it’s not my fault you’re such a poor decision maker.”

Then he got angry. He spat out, “What makes you think it’s a good idea to treat this like a joke?”

I asked him, “What makes you think it’s a good idea to ride the roller-coaster in a haunted amusement park?”

I walked out of that interview knowing that the Pro-Choice Foundation isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Live Performance of the Week: “Stay with Me” by Faces

It’s sometimes hard to remember a time when Rod Stewart didn’t suck, but this clip should refresh everyone’s memory. Faces, the lovechild under-appreciated lovechild of Small Faces and the Jeff Beck Group rocks the stage with one of their biggest hits during a relatively short career. Keep a lookout for pre-Stones Ronnie Wood and pre-Who Kenney Jones, eagerly awaiting the death of Keith Moon.
